"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" Psalm 122:6
Watch ~ "Jerusalem" VIDEO ~ at the bottom of this page
-----------------------------
Jerusalem ~ the Spring of 2007 ~ A nearly 2 week trip to this City of David, spent among some of its present-day sights and sounds - Moslem, Jewish, and Christian.
I stayed in what is called a "youth hostel" in the Old City, that is, the walled part of the city of Jerusalem. This hostel room for women only had mostly bunk beds, and people from different parts of the world and many different ages would come and go. One could also sleep on the rooftop if they wished. I didn't, but the view was a good one, of church steeples and mosques.
I wanted to see Jerusalem rather from the inside, day to day. I wasn't with a tour group, so I could meander around and just see what came. This was my second visit, the prior being in '99. This video encapsulates some of that time: the "calls to prayer" from the Moslem towers, the happenings at the Wailing (Western) Wall in the Jewish Quarter with Memorial Day services, children singing and being instructed there, the Garden Tomb where Christians from all over the world gather and sing, a walk through the Moslem Quarter, and my favorite places - along the Golden Gate wall with the Mount of Olives being directly across from it, as this is the place prophecy predicts the Messiah will return with His saints!
On Ben Yehuda Street, outside the Old City, people gather and sing or juggle or what have you on the side of the streets. It was there that a man I've heard named Ted came, dressed in sackcloth, and preached to the Jews. Some of the footage from his message is on this video also.
I also took the bus to Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, about 1 hour south of Jerusalem. I also bussed north to Tiberius, about a 2 hour drive. The shuk (market) they have there offered a great variety of fruits and vegetables. I was able to capture some countryside footage near Tiberius and the Sea of Galilee ... but the main focus was Jerusalem.
Soldiers were here and there - with guns. I also interviewed some of the people from different lands. They encourage people to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" on this video. Walking at night in the Jewish Quarter on the Sabbath, I heard a family, mostly older boys, singing in Hebrew. I stopped to record their singing as it came from a 2nd story room until I heard a knocking on a window coming from somewhere - which you can hear on the video. I took it to mean that they were not happy with my momentary pause of my walk to listen/record this touching sound. So I then continued on my way. Later I heard that Jews do not allow the use of video cameras on the Sabbath.
I have encorporated some of the segments from the "the Seed Messiah sequel" cds, also on this website - a drama of the Scriptures. A number of songs and prophetic Scriptures in the land of their fulfillment, I think bring these Words all the more alive.
The video, in 2 parts, totals about 76 minutes in length.
